Congratulations to the 2014 contest winners!

310Welcome Foster Care Bags – Natalila DeLancey and Reagan DeLancey – Sisters Natalila and Reagan will make care packages for foster children ages 2-10 to be given to them just prior to entering a foster home.

 

 

314Baskets of Love – Mrs. Wolff’s Third Grade Class at Jefferson Elementary – Baskets of Love will team up with Meals on Wheels to create baskets of love that contain breakfast items.

 

 

316Baskets of Joy – Montessori Third Grade Class – Baskets of Joy will show love to our community by providing items that the elderly at Skyview Villa can use on a daily basis.

 

 

318Wee Care Kits – Norfolk Catholic Elementary Sonshine Preschool and Third Grade – Wee Care Kits will purchase and package items as requested by the St. Vincent de Paul Society to be given to individuals in need of assistance.

 

 

321Dream Big – Addysen Clyde – Dream Big bags will be given to children at the Bright Horizons shelter to provide comfort, security and hope.  The bags will be filled with items to make them feel at home, happy and safe.

 

 

324Dogs Just Want to Have Fun – Gerardo Sanchez – Dogs Just Want to Have Fun will fix up the dog park at TaHaZouka Park in Norfolk.

 

 

326Totes 4 Tots – Destinee Sturm, Lacey Jorgenson and MacKenzie Jorgenson – Totes 4 Tots will fill totes with gifts for kids in the hospital.  They will make tied pillows, stuffed animals, rubber-band bracelets and other items.

 

 

329Sleeping Buddies – Jaden Moore – Sleeping Buddies will sew and donate pillowcases to Faith Regional’s Child Advocacy Center.

 

 

331Supplies for Survivors – Norfolk Senior High AP Government Class – Supplies for Survivors will provide basic necessities for those who seek refuge through Bright Horizons.

 

 

332Cancer Care Kits – Katie Owen, Kelsie Sturm and Sydney Owen – Cancer Care Kits will provide baskets for anyone who is receiving cancer treatments at the Carson Cancer Center.

 

 

 Projects Seeking Funding2014 Eliminate Tetanus

“Eliminate” Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus – Key Club – This group would like to hold an “Eliminate” Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus Walk that would make a true difference in the world.  Amount requested: $1,000

 

2014 Make a SmileMake a Smile – Destiney Barritt, Shelby Capetillo and Alize Perry – This group would like to host a spa day with kids at Faith Regional Health Services.  Amount requested: $911

 

 

2014 Big Leap for EducationBig Leap for Education – Morgan Morrissey, Emily Schwanebeck, Brandon Hart and Austin Bruzek – This group would like to create a “Big Splash for Education.” Amount requested: $1,000

 

 

2014 Summer Adventure CampSummer Adventure Camp – Abigail Herman – Abigail would like to create a summer arts and crafts camp for families with limited income.  Amount requested: $1,000

 

 

 

2014 Chalk around the BlockChalk Around the Block – Kaden Sager – Families would be given the opportunity to make money for St. Jude while having a fun-filled day making chalk artwork together. Amount requested: $1,000

 

 

2014 Stand for the SilentStand for the Silent – Stand for the Silent Group – This group would work to stop bullying.  Amount requested: $995

 

 

 

2014 Seeking SunshineSeeking Sunshine – Courtney Flohr – This group plans to host a Seeking Sunshine: Hide and Seek Art Event to spread the positivie message of Faith, Hope, Love and Sunshine in northeast Nebraska.  Amount requested: $1,000

 

 

2014 Walscoe ProjectThe Walscoe Project – Brynn Carmichael and Haley Sterud – This pair wants to help the Animal Shelter find forever families for furry friends by giving them adoption bags with supplies and helpful tips on how to take care of your pet.  Amount requested: $1,000

 

2014 Cancer CureCancer Cure – Courtney Ullarich and Sabrina Graham – This pair of girls will make rubber band bracelets to sell and raise money for a cure for cancer.  Amount requested: $424.23

 

 

2014 Smile Horse RanchSMILE for Autism and Disabilities – Amanda Brasch and Ashley Sanne – This duo will volunteer and SMILE Ranch, buy them supplies and provide scholarships.  Amount requested: $1,000

 

 

2014 Cozy CrittersCozy Critters – Abby Mrsny, Emily Ames, Brianna Norman and Carlos Hernandez – This group will offer supplies and vaccinations as well as help finding homes for stray animals at the local pound.

 

 

2014 Daycare for Teen MomsHelping Teen Moms with Childcare – Jason Nunez – Jason would like to help get a daycare established for children of teen moms.  Amount requested: $1,000

 

 

2014 Buddy BenchBuddy Bench at BelAir – Kyla Robinson – Kyla would like to provide a Buddy Bench, which is a special bench that students can sit on when they are feeling sad or need a friend.  Amount requested: $1,000

 

 

2014 Winter CarnivalFree Winter Carnival – Sunday School Club at E-Free – This group would provide a free winter carnival for the community with snacks and prizes.  Amount requested: $1,000
