Mission:  The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

What We Do:  The Red Cross provides disaster response in the form of food, clothing, shelter, comfort and care.  The Red Cross provides training in CPR/First Aid, AED’s, Babysitter Training, Lifeguard training, water safety, Pet First Aid, and others as well as community training for disaster preparedness and response.

Area Served: The NENE Chapter serves nine counties (Madison, Stanton, Pierce, Wayne, Cuming, Knox, Cedar, Dixon and Thurston) with an approximate population of 100,000.

Our Wish List:  The Red Cross is supported solely through generous donors and supporters.  While we may have a need for tangible items, financial support allows the organization to direct funds where they are most needed.  On average, 91% of all donated funds support our humanitarian services of disaster response and training.

Number of Staff: 2

Number of Regular Volunteers: 70

How We Are Governed:  Our chapter is governed by a Board of Directors with 20 members that are elected each year.
