Congratulations to our 2019 Youth Philanthropy Contest Winners!
Important Dates for Contest Winners to Remember:
3 Month Report – Due May 10, 2019
6 Month Report – Due August 9, 2019
Final Report – Due October 1, 2019
Cupcakes for a ‘Paws’ – This young lady will be holding a “cupcake wars” style decorating contest fundraiser where all proceeds and donations go to Furbaby Rescue, a non-profit organization who rescues and cares for stray animals until they find their “furever” homes.
Prayer Palz – These 4th graders will be encouraging mental, physical and spiritual health by connecting with patients in hospitals and nursing homes through prayer and kindness.
Learning to Give -These 3rd Graders will create random acts of kindness baskets to deliver to local businesses in the Jefferson Elementary School area.
Prayer in a Package – This Norfolk Catholic School group will be providing encouragement and comfort in the form of prayer gifts and a pillow for children receiving help and services from the Child Advocacy Center at Faith Regional Health Services.
Happy Birthday Boxes – This first grade class will provide children in Newman Grove, Tilden, Battle Creek, and Neligh schools with items to celebrate their birthday with their family who may not be able to afford or have access to these items.
Bags of Love – The Aftershock Philanthropy Club will make kids feel loved by giving children in the CASA program and Bright Horizons shelters something to call their own.
Board at the Library – These brothers will encourage social skills, build family relationships, and foster problem-solving skills by providing board games for the Norfolk Public Library that can be checked out by any person who has a library card.
Today I Wear Purple – This group will educate the community by raising awareness about epilepsy and seizures.
Healing Hats – These students will be giving beanies to people who have lost their hair due to medical treatments. These hats will provide warmth and help with insecurities. They want everyone to remember that everyone is beautiful no matter what.
Summer Fun for Little Ones – The Winside High School Youth Leadership Council will be providing pool passes, movie tickets, bowling passes, pool kits, and outdoor activities to mothers and children who are in Wayne’s Haven House domestic violence shelter. These summer activities will help to relieve stress from displacement.
Bringing Books Home – This project will provide literacy tools and books to at-risk kids by providing access to thousands of online books.
