What We Do: Behavioral Health Specialists, Inc., is a non-profit community mental health center providing services to individuals and businesses in Northeast Nebraska.  We specialize in behavioral health care, substance abuse and addictions treatment, residential treatment and foster care.  Our array of services include: outpatient mental health and substance abuse therapy and evaluation, intensive outpatient substance abuse groups, psychiatric care, community support for individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues, anger management, employee assistance, foster care, drug testing, parent education, family support, residential treatment for substance abuse, social detox, and a toll-free 24/7 Crisis Care Line.

Area Served: Behavioral Health Specialists, Inc., currently provides an array of services throughout the Region 4 Behavioral Health Service area and in 65% of the Health & Human Services Northern Service Area.  Our agency’s main office is centrally located in Norfolk and we have one clinical outpatient satellite office located in Columbus.  We operate two short-term residential treatment programs:  Seekers of Serenity in Columbus, Nebraska and Sunrise Place in Norfolk, Nebraska.  WE have foster homes, respite  care homes, family support services and community support services that extend throughout northeast Nebraska.  All of our services are available to individuals who could not otherwise afford care for both behavioral and substance abuse issues.  We offer a sliding fee scale to individuals who qualify based on their family income.  No one is denied services based on a true inability to pay.  Our Crisis CARE Line holds no eligibility requirements or limitations on individuals qualified to be served and individuals in Northeast Nebraska have 100% access to care 24 hours per day, 7 days  a week.  BHS does not discriminate based on age, gender or race.
